In April 2024, Inszone Insurance Services, LLC, a prominent insurance provider, detected unusual activity within its network environment. The investigation revealed that certain data stored on Inszone's systems might have been accessed without authorization.

After a thorough review to identify the affected information and individuals, the company completed its assessment on October 25, 2024. The breach impacted a total of 21,829 individuals across the United States, including five residents of Maine.

The ransomeware group, Hunters International, has taken credit for the attack and posted sample data, including exposed social security numbers, on the dark web to confirm the authenticity of the data.

Additionally, Inszone is offering affected individuals identity theft protection services through IDX, A ZeroFox Company. These services include credit and CyberScan monitoring, a $1,000,000 insurance reimbursement policy, and fully managed identity theft recovery services.

Affected individuals are encouraged to enroll in these services by February 5, 2025, to ensure their personal information is protected.
