
If you received a notice about your private information being potentially compromised in a data breach involving PostMeds, Inc., which does business as TruePill, you may be eligible to claim compensation from a class action settlement.
PostMeds, Inc. has agreed to pay $7.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit due to alleged unauthorized disclosure of personally identifiable and protected health information during a data breach that occurred between August 30, 2023, and September 1, 2023.
Who can claim a payout?
To be eligible to file a claim:
- You are a resident of the United States
- You received a notice that your private information was potentially compromised in the data breach
- The notice was sent on or about October 30, 2023
How much are the payouts?
Class members can claim compensation for out-of-pocket losses up to $4,000 per person. Additionally, they can choose between a cash fund payment or one year of data protection and monitoring services.
- Compensation for Out-of-Pocket Losses: Up to $4,000 per person.
- Cash Fund Payment: Pro rata distribution based on the remaining settlement fund.
- Data Protection and Monitoring Services: One year of services from Cyex, including Financial Shield Complete and Medical Shield Complete.
The cash fund payment will be distributed on a pro rata basis, meaning the net settlement fund will be divided equally among all valid claimants after deducting fees, expenses, and other costs. The exact amount will depend on the number of valid claims submitted.
How to claim an award
To claim an award, you must submit a claim form. You can file a claim online or download the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

When is the PostMeds Data Breach payout date?
