On April 6, 2025, Sensata Technologies Holding plc experienced a ransomware attack that resulted in the encryption of certain devices within its network. According to the company’s SEC disclosure, the incident was quickly detected, and Sensata immediately activated its response protocols.

As part of containment, the company proactively took its network offline and engaged third-party cybersecurity professionals to assist in the investigation.

The ransomware attack has temporarily disrupted Sensata’s operations, including shipping, receiving, manufacturing production, and various support functions. While interim measures have allowed for the partial restoration of certain functions, the company has not yet determined a full timeline for complete recovery. Importantly, the preliminary investigation found evidence that files were exfiltrated from Sensata’s environment. The company is currently working to identify and review the specific files involved.
