On March 21, 2025, NewAgeSys Inc., a pharmaceutical and ERP consulting company headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, disclosed a data breach affecting consumers. According to information filed with the Massachusetts Attorney General's office, the breach impacted 57 individuals within the state. The breach involved unauthorized access to sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers.

At this time, specific details on how the breach occurred or who was responsible have not been publicly disclosed. However, the exposure of Social Security numbers indicates a significant risk for identity theft and fraud for the affected individuals.

NewAgeSys Inc.'s response

In response to the breach, NewAgeSys has notified impacted individuals and is offering complimentary identity protection services for 24 months through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. Affected consumers can enroll in these services by visiting the Cyberscout activation page and entering the unique code provided in their notification letter. Individuals must enroll within 90 days from the date of the letter to receive these complimentary services.

The company has also provided detailed instructions on how consumers can place a security freeze on their credit reports. A security freeze helps prevent unauthorized access to credit information and can reduce the risk of identity theft.

To place a security freeze, affected individuals should send a written request to each of the three major credit reporting agencies:

Consumers are also encouraged to regularly review their credit reports for any suspicious activity. Free credit reports can be obtained annually from AnnualCreditReport.com.

For additional guidance on preventing identity theft, affected individuals can contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at 1-877-IDTHEFT (438-4338) or visit the FTC's identity theft website.
