What Happened?

On March 24, 2025, NewAgeSys Inc. notified the Massachusetts Attorney General's office about a data breach that exposed sensitive personal information. According to the company's official disclosure, at least 57 individuals in Massachusetts have been affected and social security numbers have been compromised.

NewAgeSys has not yet disclosed additional details regarding other potentially exposed information or the full scope of the breach. The company stated that it currently has no evidence of misuse or attempted misuse of the compromised data.

In response, NewAgeSys is offering affected consumers 24 months of complimentary identity protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.

Your Rights and Next Steps

If your information was exposed in the NewAgeSys data breach, you have important rights and options available to protect yourself.

You have the right to obtain a police report filed regarding this incident. If you become a victim of identity theft, you also have the right to file your own police report and obtain a copy.

Massachusetts law allows you to place a security freeze on your credit reports. A security freeze prevents credit bureaus from releasing your credit information without your explicit authorization. To place a security freeze, you will need to contact each of the three major credit reporting agencies.

When requesting a security freeze, you'll need to provide your full name, Social Security number, date of birth, current address (and previous addresses if you've moved in the past five years), proof of current address, and a photocopy of a government-issued ID.

Additionally, you may place a fraud alert on your credit report by contacting any one of the three major credit bureaus. A fraud alert notifies you if someone attempts to open new credit accounts in your name without your consent.
