Why Is There a Class Action Settlement?
The class action lawsuit was filed against Walmart Inc. for allegedly overcharging customers for certain weighted goods and bagged citrus products. The plaintiff alleged that Walmart's point-of-sale system charged customers more than the lowest in-store advertised price for these products.
The settlement was reached to avoid the costs and risks of a trial and to provide compensation to affected customers. The court will hold a final approval hearing on June 12, 2024, to decide whether to approve the settlement.
