If you purchased or paid for a prescription drug with insurance at Walgreens, you may be eligible to claim a portion of a $100,000,000 award from a class action settlement.

Walgreens has agreed to pay this amount to settle a class action lawsuit for allegedly inflating its usual and customary prices by not considering its Prescription Savings Club prices.

Who can file a claim?

The settlement class includes individuals and entities in the United States who, between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2024, paid for prescription drugs at Walgreens using insurance benefits.

Who is excluded from the class?

  • Individuals who paid for all their prescription drugs without using insurance.
  • Federal and state government entities, except government-funded employee benefit plans.
  • Individuals or entities that have previously sued Walgreens over similar claims, unless they voluntarily dismissed their claims without prejudice.

How much is the payout per person?

The settlement fund of $100,000,000 will be divided into two pools:

  • 80% for third-party payors (TPP Claimants)
  • 20% for individual claimants (Individual Claimants)

The exact amount each claimant will receive depends on the total claims submitted and the amount they paid out-of-pocket for prescriptions. The distribution is calculated on a pro rata basis within each pool.

What proof is needed?

Claimants must provide documentation of their prescription purchases and payments if they did not receive a notice from the Settlement Administrator or if their claim exceeds $10,000.

When the official settlement website goes live, an online claim portal will be available. We will update this page when the portal goes live.

Why is there a class action settlement?

The lawsuit alleges that Walgreens inflated its usual and customary prices by not considering its Prescription Savings Club prices, leading to higher costs for insured customers. Walgreens denies these allegations but agreed to settle to avoid further litigation.
