If you were impacted by the ransomware attack incident involving Uponor, Inc., you may be eligible to claim a payment from a class action settlement.
Uponor has agreed to pay $800,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged negligence and other legal violations related to a data breach that occurred in November 2022.
Who is eligible to receive a payout?
- Individuals whose personal information was impacted or potentially compromised due to the data security incident on or about November 5, 2022.
- The settlement class is estimated to include approximately 7,158 individuals, including both employees and customers.
What are my settlement payment options?
Class members can claim various forms of compensation, depending on their circumstances:
- Documented Out-of-Pocket Expenses: Up to $500 for expenses such as unreimbursed bank fees, data charges, fees for credit reports or monitoring services incurred due to the incident.
- Lost Time Reimbursement: Up to four hours of lost time at $25 per hour, totaling up to $100, if at least one hour was spent dealing with the incident.
- Lost time claims can be combined with out-of-pocket expenses and are subject to the $500 cap
- Documented Extraordinary Loss Reimbursement: Up to $5,000 for documented major financial losses directly caused by the data breach.
- Alternative Cash Payment: A $25 cash payment to claimants that choose not to provide proof or submit for lost time
- Credit Monitoring: Claimants that previously signed up for monitoring by Uponor can receive one additional year. Claimants that have not signed up can select two years of credit monitoring. This is in addition to any cash payments or reimbursement.
Do I need to provide proof?
Proof is only required for required for specific claims:
- Out-of-Pocket Expenses and Extraordinary Loss Reimbursement claims require documentation such as receipts, proof of fees, and other financial impact.
- Lost Time claimants must detail how their time was spent dealing with the data breach incident.
- Alternative Cash Payment and Credit Monitoring claims do not require additional documentation.
How to claim a payout
To claim an award, class members must submit a claim form by April 15, 2025. You can submit a claim online or download a PDF claim form to mail to the Settlement Administrator at: Uponor Data Settlement, c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, P.O. Box 225391, New York, NY 10150-5391.

When is the Uponor Data Breach payout date?
The court will hold a final approval hearing on April 21, 2025. According to the settlement agreement, payments will be made to approved claimants an estimated two months after the final approval order becomes non-appealable.
