Tubi $19.99M Privacy Settlement: Claims & Payout Details

If you used the Tubi video streaming service between June 23, 2021, and August 26, 2024, you may be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement.

Tubi, Inc. has agreed to pay $19,990,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for allegedly violating the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) by disclosing users' personally identifiable information without consent.

Who can file a claim?

You are eligible to file a claim if you used the Tubi video streaming service anytime between June 23, 2021, and August 26, 2024.

The settlement class includes:

• Individuals who registered for a Tubi account
• Users who watched Tubi content without registering, provided they can specify the type of device used and approximate dates of usage

How much can class members get?

Class members who submit valid claims will receive an equal share of the $19,990,000 settlement fund. The exact amount each claimant will receive depends on the total number of valid claims submitted.

The fund will be distributed after deducting notice and administration costs, attorneys' fees, and a service award for the class representative.

The award amount is subject to a pro rata calculation, meaning each valid claimant will receive an equal portion of the remaining settlement fund.

Is proof required to submit a claim?

No proof is required to submit a claim. Claimants can attest to their eligibility by providing basic information such as their name, email address, and details about their Tubi usage.

How to claim an award

To claim an award, you must complete and submit a claim form by November 28, 2024. You can file a claim online or download a PDF claim form to mail it.

$19.99 Million settlement fund

The settlement fund of $19,990,000 will cover:
