
If you purchased certain Ring video doorbell or security camera products at a physical retail store in California during specific dates, you may be qualify to submit a claim for between $3 and $9 from a class action settlement.
Amazon's Ring LLC has agreed to pay to settle a class action lawsuit alleging the company failed to adequately disclose that essential features of its video doorbell and security camera products required an additional paid subscription, known as the "Protect Plan."
According to the class action, without subscribing to this plan, at an additional $3 per month or $30 per year per device, customers were unable to record, play back, or view snapshots, significantly reducing the usefulness of the devices.
Who is eligible to file an Amazon Ring device claim?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- You purchased at least one of the following Ring products at a physical retail store located in California during the specified dates:
- Ring Video Doorbell 2: Purchased on or before October 6, 2020
- Ring Video Doorbell 3: Purchased on or before October 15, 2020
- Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus purchased on or before October 15, 2020
- Ring Video Doorbell Pro Wired: Purchased on or before October 30, 2020
- Ring Video Doorbell Elite: Purchased on or before May 12, 2021
- Floodlight Cam: Purchased on or before November 24, 2020
- Peephole Cam: Purchased on or before November 2, 2020
- At the time of your purchase, you did not have an existing Ring Protect Plan subscription (including any free trial) that had been active for more than 30 days.
- Only one claim permitted per household. The number of qualifying products purchased by all household members can be combined on one claim.
Who is excluded from the class?
- Individuals who purchased the applicable Ring products online or outside of California.
- Individuals who had an active Ring Protect Plan subscription (including free trials) for more than 30 days at the time of their product purchase.
How much is the class action settlement payout?
Payment amounts will be determined by the number of qualifying products purchased during the specified dates:
- One qualifying product: $3
- Two qualifying products: $6
- The second qualifying product must have been purchased and activated within 30 days of the first qualifying product.

To receive your Ring class action rebate, you must submit a claim form. Class members have the following options:

- By Mail: Download and print the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator

When is the Amazon Ring class action settlement payment date?
The final hearing is currently scheduled for July 11, 2025. Payments will be issued to approved claimants 75 days after the claim deadline as long as the court has granted the settlement final approval and there are no appeals.
