ParkMobile $32.8M Data Breach Class Action Settlement

If you received a notification from ParkMobile about the 2021 Data Security Incident, you may be eligible to claim up to $25 from a class action settlement.

ParkMobile has agreed to establish a $32,800,000 class action settlement fund for alleged negligent data security practices that led to unauthorized access to users' personal information in 2021.

Who can claim a payout?

The Settlement Class includes all individuals who received notice from ParkMobile about the 2021 Data Security Incident.

If you received such a notification, you are part of the Settlement Class and eligible to submit a claim for compensation.

How much are the ParkMobile payouts?

Class members can choose between a cash payment or a credit in the ParkMobile App.

The cash payment is capped at $25 per class member, distributed on a pro rata basis from the $9,000,000 fund after fees and expenses. This means that if the total claims exceed the available fund, each claimant's payment will be reduced proportionally.

For example, if 500,000 class members file valid claims, the total amount requested would be $12,500,000 (500,000 x $25). Since the fund is only $9,000,000, each claimant would receive $18 (calculated as $9,000,000 divided by 500,000).

If you do not elect a cash payment, you will receive a $1 credit for use in the ParkMobile App. This credit will apply to the ParkMobile fee on parking transactions and will be available for one year.

• Cash Payment: Up to $25 per class member, subject to pro rata distribution.
• App Credit: $1 credit in the ParkMobile App, valid for one year.

How to claim a payout

Class members can file a claim online or download a PDF version of the claim form to mail it.

Ensure your claim is submitted online or postmarked by March 5, 2025.

$32.8 Million settlement fund breakdown

The settlement fund of $32,800,000 will cover various expenses and awards:

• $9,000,000 cash fund for class member payments

• $21,000,000 ParkMobile App credit cap
• $2,500,000 for business remedial measures

Class Counsel will request up to 22% of the gross settlement fund for fees and expenses, and each named plaintiff may receive a service award of up to $5,000.
