How much are the MGM Data Breach Settlement payouts?

Class members can receive various benefits depending on their eligibility tier. The settlement offers:

  • Documented Loss Cash Payment: Up to $15,000 for documented expenses related to the data breaches.
  • Tiered Cash Payments: Flat payments based on the type of information exposed.

Details of the tiered payments include:

  • Tier 1 Cash Payment: Estimated $75 for Social Security or military ID exposure.
  • Tier 2 Cash Payment: Estimated $50 for passport or driver's license exposure.
  • Tier 3 Cash Payment: Estimated $20 for name, address, or date of birth exposure.

Tiered Cash Payment amounts may be adjusted based on the total number of claims filed.

How to claim an MGM settlement payment

To claim an award, you must submit a claim form by the deadline when the MGM data breach settlement website goes live.

$45M Settlement fund

The settlement fund of $45 million will cover various costs and payments:

  • Attorneys' fees: $13,500,000 (up to 30% of the settlement fund)

  • Payments to class members: Based on claims and tier eligibility

The court granted the MGM data breach settlement preliminary approval on January 22, 2025. According to the settlement agreement the settlement website and claim form should be available no later than the end of February 2025.
