If you purchased a Lifetime Maximum Care Service Contract from Chrysler LLC or Chrysler Service Contracts, Inc. for a Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep vehicle that was canceled due to non-compliance with inspection requirements, you may be eligible to claim a refund from a class action settlement.

Fiat Chrysler America US LLC (FCA US) has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit for allegedly wrongfully canceling these service contracts.

Who can get a refund?

The class members eligible for this settlement are individuals in California who meet the following criteria:

  • Purchased a Lifetime Maximum Care Service Contract for a Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep vehicle.
  • Had their contract terminated due to failure to comply with the inspection terms of the Lifetime Powertrain Limited Warranty.

This settlement specifically targets those whose contracts were canceled because they did not adhere to the five-year inspection requirement.

How much are the refunds?

Class members can receive a refund amounting to 50% of the purchase price of the Lifetime Maximum Care Service Contract.

For instance, if you paid $1,000 for the contract, you would be eligible for a $500 refund. This calculation is straightforward: simply take the total amount you paid for the contract and divide it by two to determine your potential refund.

The court will hold a Fairness Hearing on March 21, 2025, to decide whether to approve the settlement. If approved, refunds will be processed and mailed to eligible class members approximately 45 days after the court grants final approval of the settlement.

Why was there a class action settlement?

The lawsuit alleged that FCA US wrongfully terminated service contracts due to non-compliance with inspection requirements. The settlement avoids the costs of a trial and provides compensation to affected class members.
