Sixt Rent A Car, LLC has agreed to pay $2.87 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging improper charges related to vehicle damage claims.

How much is the class action settlement payout?
Class members who submit valid claims can receive a refund equal to 70% of the disputed damage charges they paid to Sixt or its collection agents. According to the official settlement website, the average claim amount per class member is approximately $356.67.

Why was Sixt Rent A Car sued?
The lawsuit challenged Sixt's charges for diminished value, estimated repair costs, loss of use, and administrative fees. Plaintiffs claimed these charges were inconsistent with the terms outlined in Sixt's rental agreements, alleging that Sixt charged customers for repairs that were never actually performed and calculated fees improperly.
Sixt denies any wrongdoing or liability but has agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid further litigation costs and uncertainties.
