If you received a notice of a data security incident discovered in April 2023, you may be eligible to claim up to $5,000 from a class action settlement.
Arcadia Publishing has agreed to pay $450,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged negligence in data security practices, which potentially compromised personal identifying information (PII).
Who can submit a claim?
The settlement class includes individuals residing in the United States who received a notice from Arcadia about the data incident discovered in April 2023 or were otherwise determined to have had their personal information potentially impacted.
The class members are primarily current and former employees of Arcadia Publishing, as well as individuals with whom Arcadia had business dealings.
How much are they payouts?
- Alternative Cash Payment: Eligible class members can receive a pro rata cash payment estimated at $100, subject to change based on the number of claims filed.
- Documented Monetary Losses: Reimbursement for documented monetary losses up to $5,000 per individual. This includes unreimbursed losses related to fraud, identity theft, professional fees, and other related expenses.
- Lost Time: Compensation for time spent remedying issues related to the data incident at $25 per hour, up to five hours.
- Credit Monitoring Services: Three years of credit monitoring services, including one-bureau coverage, dark web monitoring, real-time inquiry alerts, and $1,000,000 of identity theft insurance.
Proof required for certain claims
Claimants must provide documentation for monetary losses. However, for lost time, only an attestation is required.
- Documented Monetary Losses: Proof of losses such as receipts or statements.
- Lost Time: An attestation of time spent.
How to file a claim
Class members must submit a claim form by March 9, 2025.
