On November 26, 2024, Bronx-based University Diagnostic Medical Imaging, PC (UDMI) experienced a significant data breach when unusual activity was detected on its network.

After an investigation, it was determined that the breach affected 138,080 individuals.

PHI & PII exposed:

  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Referring physician
  • Medical treatment/diagnosis information

UDMI's Response

In response to the data breach, UDMI took action by working with third-party specialists to investigate the incident and implement additional security measures. The company also notified law enforcement and is reviewing its data protection policies and procedures to prevent future incidents.

For those affected by the breach, UDMI encourages vigilance against identity theft and fraud. Individuals should review their credit reports, account statements, and explanation of benefits forms for any suspicious activity or errors.
