Propark Mobility's Response

Upon discovering the breach, Propark Mobility took immediate action to block the unauthorized access and launched a thorough investigation with the help of external cybersecurity experts. They have since enhanced their security measures to prevent future breaches. Law enforcement was also notified of the incident. Affected individuals were identified through a diligent search of the impacted files, and notifications were sent out by September 3, 2024.

Propark is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and $1 million in identity theft insurance through Experian IdentityWorks to those affected. Detailed instructions for activating these services have been provided to the impacted individuals.

Steps for Affected Individuals

If you have been notified that your information was part of this breach, it is crucial to take the following steps:

  1. Activate Credit Monitoring: Enroll in the free Experian IdentityWorks service by November 29, 2024, to monitor your credit report for any suspicious activity.
  2. Review Financial Statements: Regularly check your bank, credit card, and insurance statements for unauthorized transactions.
  3. Change Passwords: Update passwords and security questions for your online accounts, especially if you use the same credentials across multiple sites.
  4. Consider a Security Freeze: Place a security freeze on your credit reports to prevent new accounts from being opened in your name without your consent.
  5. Report Suspicious Activity: If you notice any signs of identity theft, report it immediately to your financial institutions, law enforcement, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
