Claris Vision Holdings, LLC, recently experienced a significant data breach that potentially exposed personally identifiable information of people in its systems.
While the unauthorized access occurred between July 10, 2024, and August 5, 2024, it wasn't until December 18th when Claris Vision determined that personal data might have been accessed without authorization.
The types of consumer information exposed include Social Security numbers, medical records, and potentially credit and debit numbers.
The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Attorney General's office on February 14, 2025.
In response to the data breach, Claris Vision Holdings has taken several steps to address the situation and protect affected individuals. Upon discovering the breach, the company promptly initiated a thorough investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity professionals.
Claris Vision is offering affected individuals a complimentary 24-month membership for credit monitoring services via Cyberscout.
For those affected, it is crucial to remain vigilant by regularly reviewing financial account statements and credit reports for any signs of fraudulent or irregular activity. Claris Vision has also provided additional resources and guidance on placing fraud alerts and security freezes on credit files to further safeguard personal information.
