Smitty's $31.9M Settlement for Hydraulic Fluid Claims

If you purchased Super S Super Trac 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid, Super S 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid, CAM2 ProMax 303 Tractor Hydraulic Oil, or CAM2 303 Tractor Hydraulic Oil between December 1, 2013, and the present, you may be eligible to claim a monetary award from a class action settlement.

Smitty's Supply, Inc. and CAM2 International, LLC have agreed to pay $31,900,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for allegedly selling products that did not meet equipment manufacturers' specifications and could potentially cause damage to equipment.

Who can file a claim?

To be part of the Manufacturer Settlement Class, you must have purchased any of the specified hydraulic fluid products in the United States between December 1, 2013, and the present.

Exclusions apply to those who purchased Super S Super Trac 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid solely in Missouri, as well as those who bought the products for resale.

How much can class members get?

• General Purchase Award: $12 for each 5-gallon bucket, $6 for each 2-gallon jug, $4 for each 1-gallon jug, and $90 for each 55-gallon drum.
• Repairs/Parts/Specific Equipment Damage: Claims for repairs or damage are subject to a maximum of $1,000 unless receipts or other proof are provided.

The awards are subject to pro rata calculations based on the total number of valid claims and the net settlement fund. For example, if the total claims exceed the available funds, each claimant's award will be reduced proportionally.

Proof required to submit a claim

• General Purchase Award: Proof of purchase is required, with a maximum claim value of $100 unless additional proof is provided.
• Repairs/Parts/Specific Equipment Damage: Receipts or other documentation are needed to claim above the $1,000 cap.

When is the Smitty’s Hydraulic Fluid Settlement payout date?

The court will hold a Fairness Hearing on March 26, 2025, to decide whether to approve the settlement. If approved, payments will be distributed after any appeals are resolved.

The lawsuit alleged that the products sold by Smitty's Supply, Inc. and CAM2 International, LLC did not meet specifications and could cause equipment damage. The settlement was reached to avoid further litigation costs and risks.
