Prestige Care, Inc. has agreed to pay $700,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged failures in protecting personal data during a cyberattack.

Who is eligible for a payout?

The settlement class includes the individuals notified by Prestige Care about the September 2023 data breach.

What type of payment is each class member eligible to receive?

Class members can claim:

• Expense Reimbursements: Up to $400 for documented out-of-pocket losses related to the data incident, up $100 for lost time, and up to $5,000 for consequential damages.
• Alternative Cash Payment: A $50 cash payment if you opt not to provide proof.
• Credit Monitoring: Three years of one-bureau credit monitoring services.

The actual payout amounts may be adjusted on a pro rata basis depending on the number of valid claims.

Claimants need to provide proof for certain claims:

• For expense reimbursements and consequential damages, documentation such as receipts, proof of unreimbursed fees & other financial losses.
• No documentation is needed for an alternative cash payment claim.

When is the Prestige Care Data Incident payout date?
