HSCGP Patient Portals Privacy Settlement

If you accessed the patient portal of a website maintained by HSCGP between August 1, 2021, and June 30, 2023, you may be eligible to claim $38 from a class action settlement.

HSCGP, LLC has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit for allegedly disclosing patients’ personally identifiable information (PII) and/or protected health information (PHI) to third parties without consent.

The settlement aims to resolve claims that HSCGP, LLC used tracking technologies like the Meta Pixel on healthcare websites, potentially violating privacy laws.

Who can file a claim?

To be part of the settlement class, you must meet the following criteria:

• You accessed the patient portal of any serviced company managed by HSCGP, LLC
• The visit was between August 1, 2021, and June 30, 2023
• You are a resident of the United States

How much is the HSCGP Payout per person?

Each eligible class member who submits a valid claim will receive a cash payment of $38.

The $38 payment is straightforward and not subject to any pro rata calculations. This means every approved claimant will receive the same amount, ensuring a uniform compensation for all affected individuals.

How to claim a payout

To claim your payout, class members must complete and submit a claim form. They can file a claim online or download and mail a PDF claim form. The completed form must be submitted online or postmarked by May 19, 2025.

Claimants must provide proof of their class membership by submitting the unique Class Member ID found on the postcard notice they received.

Settlement fund breakdown

The settlement fund will cover:

• Payments of $38 to each eligible class member.
• Costs of notice and administration of the settlement.
• Attorneys’ fees and costs, which may not exceed $8,000,000.
• Service Awards for Class Representatives, not exceeding $2,500 each.

When is the HSCGP Settlement payout date?

After the final approval hearing on March 19, 2025, if the settlement is approved, payments will be processed for eligible class members 160 days afterwards and completion of any appeals process.

Why was there a class action settlement?
