
If you purchased certain Boar's Head meat products in the United States between May 10, 2024, and August 12, 2024, for personal or household use (and not for resale), you may be eligible to submit a claim for a payout from a class action settlement.
Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc. has agreed to pay $3.1 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging economic damages resulting from a voluntary recall of meat products potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Who can file for a Boar's Head settlement payment?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- You purchased one or more of the recalled Boar's Head meat products.
- Your purchase was made in the United States between May 10, 2024, and August 12, 2024.
- The products were purchased for personal, family, or household use only, not for resale.
The "Covered Products" include specific meat items voluntarily recalled by Boar's Head due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. A comprehensive list of these products can be found on pages 64 - 68 of the official settlement agreement.
How much is the class action payout?
- With Proof of Purchase: Claimants can receive the full purchase price for each Covered Product you bought, as documented in proof of purchase provided with the claim.
- Without Proof of Purchase: Payments will be equal to the average retail price for up to two Covered Products per household.
Final payment amounts may be adjusted on a pro rata basis, determined by the number of claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, you must submit a claim form by the deadline of May 16, 2025. You can file a claim online or download and print the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

Proof of Purchase claims require supporting documentation such as itemized grocery receipts or loyalty card records that show the following:

$3.1 Million class action settlement fund
The settlement fund of $3,100,000 will cover:
- Attorneys' fees: Up to $1,033,333.33
- Attorneys' costs and expenses: To be presented to the court at a later date
- Service awards to class representatives: Up to $1,000 each
- Notice and settlement administration costs: Amount to be determined
- Payments to approved claimants: Remaining settlement funds

When is the Boar's Head recall settlement payout date?
The court will hold a final approval hearing on August 13, 2025. Payments will be issued to class members with valid claims approximately 90 days after the court grants final approval of the settlement or any appeals are resolved.
