If you are a current or past owner or lessee of a 2015-2023 Porsche Cayenne or Macan, or a 2014-2023 Panamera, you may be eligible to claim benefits from a class action settlement.
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged defects in the sunroof draining systems of these vehicles, which purportedly led to water ingress into the interiors.
Who can file a claim?
To be part of the settlement, you must have purchased or leased a "Settlement Class Vehicle" in the United States.
These vehicles include:
- 2015-2023 Porsche Cayenne
- 2015-2023 Porsche Macan
- 2014-2023 Porsche Panamera
The vehicles must have been equipped with a sunroof and imported by Porsche Cars North America for sale or lease by authorized dealers in the U.S.
Who is excluded from the class?
- Current employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of Porsche Cars North America, and their family members
- Used car dealers and those who purchased vehicles for commercial resale
- Owners of vehicles with salvaged titles or those acquired as a total loss by insurance companies
How much can class members get?
The settlement offers several benefits, including:
- Warranty Extension: Coverage for a percentage of the cost of a Covered Repair, based on the vehicle's age and mileage at the time of repair.
- Reimbursement for Past Repairs: Class Members can claim reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses for a Covered Repair made before November 6, 2024. The reimbursement rate varies based on the vehicle's age and mileage at the time of repair.
- Annual Sunroof Drain Cleaning: Free annual sunroof drain cleaning for up to 9 years or 90,000 miles from the vehicle's In-Service Date.
The reimbursement rates are detailed in a tiered schedule based on the vehicle's age and mileage:
- Up to 36,000 Miles: 100% coverage for repairs within 3 years or less, and 100% for 3-4 years.
- 36,001 to 50,000 Miles: 100% coverage for repairs within 3 years or less, and 100% for 3-4 years.
- 50,001-72,000 Miles: 70% coverage for repairs within 3 years or less, and 65% for 3-4 years.
- 72,001-80,000 Miles: 60% coverage for repairs within 3 years or less, and 55% for 3-4 years.
For vehicles older than 6 years or with more than 80,000 miles, a 35% reimbursement is provided.
What proof is required to submit a claim?
Required documentation includes:
- Repair invoice or record showing the repair details
- Proof of payment for the repair
- Proof of ownership or lease of the vehicle at the time of repair

When is the Porsche Sunroof Settlement payout date?
