If you purchased a 2011-2016 Duramax diesel Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra from a GM-authorized dealer in California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, or Texas, you may be eligible to claim a cash payment ranging from $400 to $12,712 from a class action settlement.

General Motors has agreed to pay $35,000,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged defects in the high-pressure fuel injection pump known as the CP4 pump.

Who are the class members?

To be a class member, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Bought the vehicle from a GM-authorized dealer located in California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, or Texas.
  • The purchase must have occurred between March 1, 2010, and September 13, 2024.

How much can class members get?

Those who paid out of pocket for CP4 repairs can claim between $6,356 and $12,712, depending on the number of claims submitted.

Former owners who did not pay for repairs can receive between $400 and $800. The settlement includes a $30 million Repair Fund and a $5 million Former Owner Fund.

  • Repair Fund: If 25% of eligible class members submit claims, each could receive approximately $12,712. If 50% submit claims, the amount would be around $6,356.
  • Former Owner Fund: If 5% of former owners submit claims, they could receive about $800 each. If 10% submit claims, the amount would be approximately $400.

What proof of purchase is required to file a claim?

  • Proof of Purchase: Documentation showing the vehicle was purchased from a GM-authorized dealer in the specified states during the eligible period.
  • Former Owner Proof of Sale: If applicable, proof of the sale date of the vehicle.
  • Proof of Repair: Documentation of the CP4 repair, including invoices or bank statements showing payment.
