If you watched a video on the Gaia or Yoga International websites using a web browser between September 12, 2020, and July 19, 2024, and had a Facebook account during that time, you may be eligible to claim a portion of a $2,000,000 award from a class action settlement.
Gaia, Inc. has agreed to pay $2,000,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for allegedly sharing personally identifiable information with Facebook through the Facebook tracking pixel, which identifies users as having requested or obtained specific video materials, in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA).
Who can file a claim?
To be part of the Settlement Class, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must reside in the United States
- You must have subscribed or signed up for access to Gaia’s services between September 12, 2020, and July 19, 2024
- You must have requested or obtained any prerecorded videos available on Gaia’s websites using a web browser
- You must have had a Facebook account between September 12, 2020, and July 19, 2024
How much can class members get?
Class members who submit a valid claim will receive a pro rata share of the $2 million settlement fund, after deductions for administrative expenses, taxes, and court-approved fees and awards.
The exact amount each class member will receive depends on the number of valid claims filed.
The net settlement fund will be divided equally among all valid claimants, ensuring that each receives an equal share.
Is proof required to submit a claim?
No proof is required to submit a claim. Claimants can attest that they meet the class criteria without needing to provide additional proof.

How to claim an award
To claim an award, you must complete and submit a claim form. You can file a claim online or download a claim form to mail.

$2,000,000 Settlement Fund Breakdown
The settlement fund of $2,000,000 will cover:

When is the Gaia Yoga International Settlement payout date?
The court will hold a final approval hearing on December 9, 2024. If approved, payments will be made to eligible class members within 90 days after the settlement is approved and any appeals are resolved.
Why was there a class action settlement?
The lawsuit alleged that Gaia violated the VPPA by disclosing users' personally identifiable information to Facebook. Gaia denies any wrongdoing, but both parties agreed to settle to avoid further litigation costs and uncertainties.
