Fandango $9 Million Ticket Fee Settlement (New York)

If you paid a convenience fee to purchase electronic tickets for a movie in any theater located within New York State from Fandango between August 29, 2022, and March 11, 2024, you may be eligible to claim a $5.00 cash payment or a $10.00 voucher from a class action settlement.

Fandango Media, LLC has agreed to pay $9,000,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for allegedly failing to disclose a convenience fee for online tickets to movie theaters in New York State, in violation of New York Arts and Cultural Affairs Law § 25.07(4).

Who can claim a payout?

To be part of the settlement class, you must meet the following criteria:

• You paid a convenience fee to purchase electronic tickets for a movie in any theater located within New York State.
• The purchase was made through Fandango’s website, mobile application, or any other Fandango-owned or operated online platform.
• The transaction occurred between August 29, 2022, and March 11, 2024.

These criteria ensure that anyone who meets these conditions is part of the settlement class and eligible to file a claim.

How much is the Fandango payout?

Class members have the option to choose between two types of payouts:

• A $5.00 cash payment
• A $10.00 voucher for Fandango at Home

Is proof required to get a payout?

Yes, claimants need to provide proof of their settlement class membership by submitting the unique Notice ID and Confirmation Code received by email.
