Deadline Extended: Zicam Products $6M Settlement

UPDATE: The Zicam products claim deadline has been extended to February 21, 2025

If you purchased one or more Zicam-branded products in the United States before October 17, 2024, you may qualify to submit a claim for a cash payment from a class action settlement.

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. has agreed to pay $6,000,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged misleading advertising of Zicam products.

Who is eligible to receive a payout?

• Individuals in the United States, including districts, territories, or tribal reservations may submit a claim if they purchased one or more Zicam products.
• All Zicam-branded products purchased before October 17, 2024 are included in the settlement.
• Claims are limited to one valid claim per household, no matter the number of residents in the dwelling.

How much is each settlement payment?

Class members can claim the following:

• With proof of purchase: $5 per product, up to $30 for six products.
• Without proof of purchase: $2.50 per product, up to $5 for two products.

The settlement fund is divided such that one-third is allocated for valid claims with proof of purchase, and two-thirds for claims without proof. If the number of approved claims exceed available funds, payment amounts will be reduced.

How do I submit a claim for payment

To claim a settlement payout, class members must complete a claim form by February 27, 2025. You can file a claim online or download the PDF claim form to print and mail to the settlement administrator.

$6 Million Settlement fund

The settlement fund of $6,000,000 will cover various costs and payments:

• Payments to approved claimants
• Settlement administration costs
• Attorneys' fees and expenses up to $2,000,000
• Service awards to class representatives: $3,000 each

When is the Zicam Settlement payout date?

The court will hold a final approval hearing on February 28, 2025. If the settlement is approved by the judge and no appeals are filed, payments will be distributed for valid claims an estimated 75 days after final approval.

Why is there a Zicam class action settlement?

The lawsuit alleges that Church & Dwight Co., Inc. engaged in misleading advertising of Zicam products. The Zicam manufacturer denies these allegations but agreed to settle to avoid costly litigation and a possible trial.
