Why did the aerospace companies settle this lawsuit?
The class action lawsuit alleged that the defendants violated federal antitrust laws by agreeing not to hire each other's employees. According to the lawsuit, this unlawful agreement suppressed competition, allowing the companies to pay lower salaries to aerospace engineers and other skilled technical workers.
The defendants deny wrongdoing but agreed to settle to continued costly litigation and the possibility of a lengthy trial.
