If you live in California, Illinois, Indiana, or Nevada and someone searched your name on ZoomInfo.com, you may be eligible to claim $108.43 to $1,942.47 from a class action settlement.

ZoomInfo Technologies, LLC has agreed to pay $29,557,612.50 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged violations of right of publicity laws by using individuals’ full names, business addresses, work history, job title, partial business phone number, and work email address to advertise or promote subscriptions to ZoomInfo’s website.

Can I Claim an Award?

To be eligible for a payment, you must be a resident of California, Illinois, Indiana, or Nevada whose name was displayed in a preview page on ZoomInfo.com and viewed for the first time between specific dates. The specific dates vary by state:

  • California: Between January 9, 2020, and March 27, 2024
  • Illinois: Between April 15, 2020, and March 27, 2024
  • Indiana: Between March 27, 2022, and March 27, 2024
  • Nevada: Between March 27, 2022, and March 27, 2024

If you received a notice of the Settlement via email or in the mail, our records indicate that you are a Settlement Class Member and are included in the Settlement.

What Award Can I Claim?

If you are eligible, you can file a claim to receive a cash payment. The amount of the payment will depend on the state you reside in and the number of claims filed in your state.

The settlement creates four State-Specific Settlement Funds amounting to the following:

  • California: $14,228,617.50
  • Illinois: $11,695,860.00
  • Indiana: $2,302,080.00
  • Nevada: $1,331,055.00

Class Counsel estimates individual payments for each state as follows:

  • California: $108.43 to $216.86
  • Illinois: $145.93 to $291.85
  • Indiana: $740.77 to $1,481.54
  • Nevada: $971.24 to $1,942.47

These settlement payments will be an equal share of each State-Specific Settlement Fund after the payment of settlement expenses, attorneys’ fees, and any incentive award for the Class Representatives.

Is Proof Required to Claim the Reward?

Not applicable. Claimants do not need to proactively provide proof they are a class member. The Settlement Administrator already has their information.

How to Claim Your Award

To claim your award, you must complete and submit a Claim Form by September 22, 2024. You can file a claim online by visiting the online claim form or by mailing a paper Claim Form to the Settlement Administrator. If you received an email notice, it contained a link to the online Claim Form. A paper Claim Form with pre-paid postage was attached to the postcard notice you may have received in the mail. If you send in a paper Claim Form and it is approved, you will receive a check by mail.

  2. Select your preferred payment method: Venmo, Zelle, or check.

How do I Get Paid?

Payments will be issued via Venmo, Zelle, or check, depending on the option you selected when filing your claim. Checks and electronic payments will be issued within 28 days after the Settlement Effective Date.

Settlement Fund Breakdown

The total settlement amount is $29,557,612.50, distributed among four state-specific funds:

  • California: $14,228,617.50
  • Illinois: $11,695,860.00
  • Indiana: $2,302,080.00
  • Nevada: $1,331,055.00

The settlement amount will be used to pay for settlement expenses, attorneys’ fees, and incentive awards before being distributed to class members. Class Counsel will request attorneys’ fees and expenses of up to 35% of each State-Specific Settlement Fund.

ZoomInfo denies any wrongdoing, but has agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid further litigation.
