If you are a current or former Verizon post-paid wireless customer, you may be eligible to claim up to $100 from a class action settlement.
Verizon has agreed to pay $100,000,000 to settle a class action lawsuit over allegations that it charged unfair and inadequately disclosed monthly administrative fees.
Who is receiving a payout?
Here are the key points for eligibility:
- You must have been a Verizon post-paid wireless customer.
- In the United States
- You must have been charged an Administrative Charge and/or an Administrative and Telco Recovery Charge between January 1, 2016, and November 8, 2023.
If you received a notice about this settlement by email or mail, you are in the Settlement Class according to Verizon’s records and are eligible to file a claim for a payment from the settlement.
How much is the payout per person?
Class members can receive a payment of up to $100. The payment amount is calculated based on the length of time the member was a Verizon subscriber and the number of valid claims filed. Here’s how the payment is structured:
- Initial Allocation: Each claimant will receive a minimum of $15.00.
- Monthly Allocation: An additional $1.00 for each month of service, up to a maximum of $100.
For example, if you were a Verizon customer for 50 months, your payment would be $15 + (50 x $1) = $65. However, if the total claims exceed the settlement fund, payments will be reduced on a pro-rata basis.
Filing a claim
The claim filing deadlined was on April 15, 2024. Claims can no longer be filed.

According to the official settlement website, payments are expected to be distributed in early January 2025.
Why is there a class action settlement?
The lawsuit alleges that Verizon charged unfair and inadequately disclosed monthly administrative charges. Verizon denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle to avoid further litigation.
