If you made a purchase at shopjustice.com between April 1, 2021, and October 31, 2023, you may be eligible to claim up to $12.50 from a class action settlement

Nogin, Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged deceptive advertising practices related to discounts on merchandise sold on shopjustice.com.

Who is eligible to receive a payout?

To be considered a class member, you:

  • Made a purchase at shopjustice.com between April 1, 2021, and October 31, 2023
  • Did not return the purchased items
  • Received direct notice of the settlement via email

If you fit these criteria, you are likely eligible to receive a merchandise certificate.

How much are the payouts?

Class members are entitled to receive one merchandise certificate to be used for up to $12.50 toward the purchase of any single item at a designated website for Justice-branded merchandise.

The certificates are non-transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and will expire after twelve months.

The merchandise certificate will be applied to the after-tax price of an item after any other applicable discounts. If the purchase price is less than $12.50, there will be no remaining balance on the certificate.

No action needed to receive compensation

If you received notice of the settlement by email, you do not need to take any further action to receive your merchandise certificate as it will be sent to you automatically.

Settlement fund expenses

The settlement fund will cover various costs associated with the lawsuit, including:

  • Attorneys' fees: Up to $600,000
  • Service awards to class representatives: Up to $2,500
  • Payments to class members: Merchandise certificates valued at $12.50 each

Important dates

  • Fairness Hearing: February 21, 2025
  • Deadline to File a Claim: Not applicable as no action is needed

When is the payout date?

The court will hold a Fairness Hearing on February 21, 2025, to determine if the settlement is fair and reasonable. If approved, the merchandise certificates will be distributed to eligible class members.

Why is there a class action settlement?

The lawsuit was filed against Nogin, Inc. and other defendants for allegedly engaging in deceptive advertising by offering improper discounts on shopjustice.com. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the costs of a trial and provide relief to class members.
