Satellite Healthcare $2.4 Million Settlement (California)

If you are a current or former non-exempt employee of Satellite Healthcare, Inc. in California who worked between April 21, 2020, and September 6, 2023, you might be eligible to claim a monetary award from a class action settlement.

Satellite Healthcare has agreed to pay $2,425,000 to settle a class action lawsuit concerning allegations of unpaid wages, failure to provide meal and rest breaks, and other labor law violations.

Who are the class members?

The class members in this settlement include:

• All current and former non-exempt employees of Satellite Healthcare, Inc. who worked in California.
• Employment must have occurred during the Class Period, which spans from April 21, 2020, to September 6, 2023.

How much can class members get?

The settlement provides for a Net Settlement Amount, estimated to be at least $1,489,166.67, which will be distributed among the Participating Class Members. The amount each class member receives will be calculated based on the number of weeks they worked during the Class Period. The estimated Weekly Rate is $6.20. For example, if a class member worked 100 weeks, their estimated settlement share would be 100 weeks x $6.20 = $620.

• Weekly Rate Calculation: The Net Settlement Amount is divided by the total number of weeks worked by all Participating Class Members to determine the Weekly Rate.
• Example Calculation: If you worked 50 weeks, your estimated payment would be 50 weeks x $6.20 = $310.

How to claim an award

Class members do not need to take any action to receive their settlement share. Checks will be mailed automatically to the address on file.

How is the settlement fund distributed?

The settlement fund of $2,425,000 will cover various expenses and payments:

• Settlement Administration Expenses: Estimated not to exceed $25,000.
• Class Counsel Fees: Not to exceed $808,333.33.
• Class Counsel Litigation Expenses: Not to exceed $35,000.
• Class/PAGA Representative Enhancement Payments: Up to $10,000 for each of the three plaintiffs.
• PAGA Payment: $50,000, with $37,500 going to the State of California.

When is the Satellite Healthcare Settlement payout date?

The Final Approval Hearing on January 8, 2025. If the court approves the settlement and no appeals are filed, payments will be distributed to class members approximately three months after the hearing, assuming no objections or appeals delay the process.
