Who are the class members?
Class members include individuals whose dogs were harmed during grooming at any of the 20 Healthy Spot locations in California between July 2018 and July 2021.
The class is divided into subclasses based on the severity of the injury:
- Dogs that were killed
- Dogs that suffered severe injuries
- Dogs that suffered minor injuries
Each class member is identified through Healthy Spot's records, which detail the injuries sustained by dogs during grooming.
How much can class members get?
- Dogs that were killed: Approximately $7,500
- Dogs with severe injuries: Approximately $2,375
- Dogs with minor injuries: Approximately $100
How do class members get a payout?
Class members do not need to file a claim to receive compensation. Payments will be automatically distributed to eligible class members.

Settlement fund expenses
The settlement fund of $725,000 will cover:
- Up to $181,250 for Class Counsel's attorney fees
- Up to $65,000 for litigation expenses
- Up to $10,000 for each Class Representative as a service award
- Up to $50,000 for the Administrator's expenses
When is the Healthy Spot Settlement payout date?
Payments will be distributed after the Final Approval Hearing on January 9, 2025, once the settlement is finalized.
