Film at Lincoln Center, Inc. has agreed to pay $400,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for allegedly failing to properly disclose a ticket convenience fee for electronic tickets to its theaters before those tickets were selected for purchase.
Who can claim a payout?
The class members eligible for a payout are those who:
- Purchased electronic tickets to Film at Lincoln Center’s theaters from their website, mobile application, or any other online platform owned or operated by Film at Lincoln Center
- Paid a convenience fee in connection with such purchases
- Made these purchases between August 29, 2022, and February 21, 2024
These theaters include, but are not limited to, the Walter Reade Theater and the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.
How much can class members get?
Class members are eligible to receive a pro rata share of the $400,000 Settlement Fund. The exact amount each member receives will depend on the total amount of convenience fees they paid.
For example, if the total convenience fees paid by all claimants amounts to $100,000, and a single member paid $100 in fees, that member would receive 0.1% of the Available Settlement Fund after deductions for administrative costs, attorneys' fees, and other expenses.
