What Happened?
On October 2, 2023, Lucent Health Solutions experienced a cybersecurity incident involving a phishing email. A manager opened an email from a trusted broker, which led to unauthorized access to an email account for approximately ninety minutes. During this time, an unauthorized individual queried select search terms. Although no information was downloaded or electronically transferred, the incident potentially exposed sensitive information.
The types of consumer information that may have been exposed include:
- Full names and dates of birth
- Social Security numbers
- Health, dental, and vision group and/or plan numbers
The breach affected approximately 37,000 people across the United States, with 1,103 individuals in Texas and 27 in Massachusetts.
Lucent Health notified affected consumers via U.S. Mail and has offered credit monitoring services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.
