What was the October 2024 Data Breach?

On October 25, 2024, Georgia Urology discovered unusual activity involving two employee email accounts. Immediately after detecting the suspicious activity, the company engaged an external Cyber Incident Response Team to conduct a comprehensive investigation. This investigation revealed that certain emails and attachments may have been accessed or acquired without authorization.

After completing a thorough review on March 5, 2025, Georgia Urology determined that sensitive personal and protected health information of approximately 12,398 individuals had potentially been exposed. The company officially disclosed the breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on March 27, 2025.
