What Happened?

On February 15, 2025, Crossroads Trading experienced a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to its servers. The attackers, identified as the Qilin ransomware group, gained entry into the company's network and encrypted sensitive data. The group publicly claimed responsibility for the breach on the dark web on February 21, 2025, threatening to release the stolen data by February 27, 2025.

Crossroads Trading immediately responded to the breach, securing its network, restoring systems, and retaining cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident. The investigation found that the unauthorized access was limited to a specific segment of the company's network.

  • Government-issued ID numbers (such as passports or state ID cards)

Crossroads Trading notified affected individuals by U.S. mail and offered identity theft protection services through Experian IdentityWorks. The company also reported the incident to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is cooperating with their ongoing investigation.

In total, the breach affected at least 1,525 individuals in Texas and 32 individuals in New Hampshire. Notifications about the breach were officially disclosed to the Texas Attorney General's office on March 26, 2025, and to the New Hampshire Attorney General's office on March 25, 2025.
