What Happened?

On July 2, 2023, Bradford-Scott Data, LLC, a technology provider for Wellness Federal Credit Union, detected unusual activity within a specific portion of their network. Immediate measures were taken to secure the environment, and a thorough investigation was launched to understand the extent and nature of the breach. It was discovered that between May 19 and May 28, 2023, unauthorized access had likely resulted in the copying of certain files from their network.

After a detailed review, which concluded on December 10, 2023, it was confirmed that the compromised files contained sensitive information, including names and Social Security numbers. Although there has been no evidence of fraudulent use of the data as of the latest updates, the breach has impacted a total of 41,968 individuals across the United States, including 55 residents of Maine.
