Visionary Integration Professionals' Response

Upon learning about the breach, VIP took immediate action to mitigate the impact and prevent future incidents. The company engaged forensic investigators to conduct a thorough review of the affected systems. Based on the investigators' recommendations, VIP implemented additional security measures to enhance its cybersecurity posture.

In an effort to support those affected, VIP is offering complimentary Single Bureau Credit Monitoring, Single Bureau Credit Report, and Single Bureau Credit Score services for 24 months. These services provide alerts when changes occur to your credit file, helping you stay vigilant against potential fraud. VIP is also providing proactive fraud assistance through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company specializing in fraud assistance and remediation services.

Steps to Take if You Are Affected by the Data Breach

If you have received a notification from VIP indicating that your information may have been compromised, it is important to take the following steps:

  1. Enroll in Credit Monitoring Services: Take advantage of the complimentary credit monitoring services offered by VIP. You must enroll within 90 days from the date of the notification letter. This service will help you monitor any unusual activity on your credit report.
  2. Review Your Credit Reports: Regularly check your credit reports from the three major credit reporting agencies—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You can obtain a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each agency through Annual Credit Report.
  3. Place a Security Freeze: Consider placing a security freeze on your credit report. This will prevent new credit accounts from being opened in your name without your authorization. You can place a freeze by contacting each of the credit reporting agencies directly.
  4. Set Up Fraud Alerts: As an alternative to a security freeze, you can place an initial or extended fraud alert on your credit file. This will notify creditors to take extra steps to verify your identity before granting credit in your name.
  5. Stay Vigilant: Monitor your financial accounts and statements for any unusual activity. Report any suspicious transactions to your financial institution immediately.

For additional resources and contact information for the credit reporting agencies, refer to the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office and the Maine Attorney General's Office.
