PS Logistics's Response

Upon discovering the breach, PS Logistics promptly initiated a thorough investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity professionals. The company conducted an extensive forensic analysis and manual document review to identify the scope of the breach and the information impacted.

In response to the incident, PS Logistics is offering complimentary identity theft protection services through Equifax to affected individuals. These services include credit monitoring, fraud alerts, identity restoration assistance, and up to $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance coverage. Affected individuals were provided with instructions to enroll in these services.

The company has also implemented additional security measures to protect its network and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Steps for affected individuals to take

If you believe you may have been impacted by this data breach, it is essential to take immediate action to safeguard your personal information.

Here are some steps you should consider:

  1. Enroll in credit monitoring services: Take advantage of the complimentary Equifax services offered by PS Logistics. Follow the instructions provided in the notification letter to activate your membership.
  2. Place a fraud alert on your credit file: Contact one of the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion) to place a fraud alert. This will notify creditors to take extra steps to verify your identity before opening new accounts.
  3. Consider a security freeze: A security freeze prevents credit reporting agencies from releasing your credit report without your consent. This is a stronger measure to protect against identity theft.
  4. Monitor your financial accounts: Regularly review your bank statements, credit card statements, and credit reports for any unauthorized transactions or accounts.
  5. Report suspicious activity: If you notice any signs of identity theft or fraud, file a police report and report the incident to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at www.ftc.gov/idtheft.
  6. Protect your medical information: Review any explanation of benefits statements from your health insurance provider for unfamiliar claims. Contact your provider for clarification if necessary.

For additional guidance, you can contact the dedicated response line set up by PS Logistics, as detailed in the notification letter.
