Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union, based in Glens Falls, New York, experienced a data breach that has raised concerns among its members. The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Attorney General's office on February 14, 2025, affecting at least 14 individuals in Massachusetts.

The breach involved the unauthorized exposure of sensitive consumer information, including social security numbers, financial account details, and credit or debit card numbers.

Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union's Response

In response to this serious incident, Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union has taken several steps to mitigate the impact and prevent future occurrences. The credit union conducted a thorough investigation and notified law enforcement. They have also changed network passwords and implemented additional security measures to safeguard their systems.

To support those affected, Parks Heritage FCU is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services. These services, provided by Cyberscout, a TransUnion company, offer alerts for any changes to credit files for 24 months from enrollment. Affected individuals are encouraged to enroll in these services promptly. Instructions for enrollment are included in the notice sent to consumers.

Additionally, the credit union advises members to remain vigilant by regularly reviewing their credit reports and account statements for any suspicious activity. If any discrepancies are found, they should be reported immediately to the credit union.
