What Happened?

On or around July 8, 2023, M&D Capital Premier Billing LLC detected suspicious activity within their computer systems. Immediate actions were taken to secure the network, and an investigation was launched with the assistance of third-party forensic specialists. It was determined that an unauthorized threat actor might have accessed certain systems as early as June 20, 2023. This breach potentially led to unauthorized access or acquisition of files containing sensitive personal data.

What Information Was Involved?

The compromised systems held a variety of personal information provided by the Covered Entity. This included:

  • names and addresses
  • medical billing and insurance information
  • specific medical details such as diagnoses, medications, treatments
  • demographic data like dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and financial information

What Measures Are Being Taken?

M&D Capital Premier Billing LLC has taken significant steps to enhance security and prevent future incidents. These measures include notifying law enforcement, further securing their systems, and implementing additional administrative and technical safeguards. They have also partnered with third-party specialists to bolster their system's security.

To support those potentially impacted, M&D is offering free access to Single Bureau Credit Monitoring services for twelve months. These services are designed to alert individuals to changes in their credit file, helping to protect against identity theft.
