If you received a call with an artificial or prerecorded voice from Citibank, N.A. on your cellular telephone between August 15, 2014, and July 31, 2024, concerning a past-due credit card account, and you are not a current or former Citibank cardholder, customer, or authorized user, you may be eligible to claim between $350 and $850 from a class action settlement.
Citibank has agreed to pay $29,500,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by making unauthorized calls to non-customers.
Who can file a claim?
To be part of the settlement class, you must meet the following criteria:
- Received a call from Citibank between August 15, 2014, and July 31, 2024
- The call was made to a cellular telephone number
- The call used an artificial or prerecorded voice
- You are not a current or former Citibank cardholder, customer, or authorized user
- The call was related to a past-due credit card account
How much can I get?
Class members can expect to receive between $350 and $850, depending on the number of valid claims submitted.
The settlement fund of $29,500,000 will be distributed among the claimants after deducting costs for notice and administration, attorneys' fees, and incentive awards to the plaintiffs.
- Basic Award: Each approved claimant will receive a share of the net settlement fund.
- Additional Compensation: Claimants who provide evidence of receiving more than five calls may receive additional compensation, up to $2,500. This additional amount is subject to the availability of remaining funds after the initial distribution.
The award amount is subject to a net settlement fund calculation. For example, if 50,000 valid claims are submitted, and the net settlement fund after deductions is $19,000,000, each claimant would receive $380. If fewer claims are submitted, the amount per claimant could be higher.
Is proof required to submit a claim?
